Westfield, Chevron Kick-off DED Phase of TRU 4, 6, 7 & 12 Project

Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) has contracted Westfield Energy Resources Limited (WERL) to deliver the Detailed Engineering Design (DED) Phase of TRU 4, 6, 7 & 12 Project.

Speaking at the Project Kick-off meeting held on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Peninsula Hotel & Towers, Lekki, Lagos, Mr. Jude Pemu, Project Engineer, CNL said the decision to engage Westfield to handle the DED phase of the project is attributable to the company's work ethic and the quality of work done on the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED).

The Chevron Project Engineering Manager, Mr. Steve Gillam who moderated the event, ran through the scope of work and made technical clarifications.

In his remarks, Chief Strategy and Corporate Planning Officer of Westfield Energy Resources Limited, Mr. Joseph Sharemi reiterated Westfield’s track records of delivering cost-effective and quality projects in a timely manner, while also ensuring safety. He assured Chevron that their expectations on the project will not only be met, but will be surpassed.

The DED is expected to be concluded within 6 months.

It would be recalled that in its drive to take tanks that are out of service for repairs and upgrade them in batches of four, CNL contracted WERL to execute the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) of the repair and upgrade of tanks 4, 6, 7 & 12 out of the twelve original tanks on its tank farm.

Tanks 4 and 6 which are currently fixed roof and spanning 64m are 200,000bbls while tanks 7 and 12 which are currently single deck floating roof tanks and spanning 82m are 400,000bbls capacity.

The complete FEED Package was delivered to Chevron Nigeria Limited on August 25, 2017.
